Mr. Dreisbach is a Professor in the Department of Law, Justice, and Society at American University in Washington, D.C. He received a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Oxford University, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar, and Juris Doctor degree from University of Virginia. He has authored or edited seven books, including Thomas Jefferson and the Wall of Separation between Church and State – cited as one of Marvin Olasky’s “Top 100 Treadmill Books,” and has published more than 60 book chapters, reviews, and articles. Professor Dreisbach was the 2008 recipient of American University’s highest faculty award, “Scholar / Teacher of the Year.”
GUEST SPEAKER / AUTHOR Mark David Hall Ph.D.
Mr. Hall is a Herbert Hoover Distinguished Professor of Political Science at George Fox University. He received a BA in political science from Wheaton College and a Ph.D. in Government from the University of Virginia. He has written or edited The Political and Legal Philosophy of James Wilson, 1742-1798 (1997); The Founders on God and Government (2004); The Collected Works of James Wilson 2 vol. (2007); America’s Forgotten Founders (2008); The Forgotten Founders on Religion and Public Life (2009); and The Sacred Rights of Conscience: Selected Readings on Religious Liberty and Church-State Relations in the American Founding (2009). He recently completed a book manuscript entitled The Old Puritan and a New Nation: Roger Sherman and the Creation of the American Republic and is co-editing Faith and the Founders of the American Republic. In addition, he has written numerous articles and book reviews for academic journals in the fields of politics, law, and history. |
