Elementary (K-6th grade) Activities and Clubs
Students in Kindergarten through 6th grade have many opportunities to participate in outside activities and clubs. Some of these are in the form of class field trips, other programs meet before school, while some take place after school or on a seasonal basis.
Garden club meets every Wednesday through the academic year from 3:00-4:00pm. Students from all grades are invited to join. The 1st-6th grades are club members, and the 7th-12th graders act as student advisers. We work in the garden as well as spend time planning and learning about horticulture. For more information contact Kami McNeill.
Speech Meet (3rd – 8th grade)
The Veritas Speech Meet takes place every year during February. This fun event provides an opportunity for students to practice their public-speaking skills. Each participant is being “graded” against set criteria, such as appropriate volume, eye contact, etc. and not competing against fellow classmates. Afterwards, all will be given helpful, written feedback from three judges.
To learn more or volunteer as a judge for this great event, please contact our Speech Meet Coordinator.
Camp Westwind is a 529 acre camp on a nature preserve located just north of Lincoln City. Beginning with a two-mile hike to get to the camp, sixth grade students and their parents are immersed in God’s creation. Throughout the four days and three nights, students spend time learning in a rustic, natural setting while growing together as a class. Time spent at Westwind includes lessons, devotions and worship, nature related activities, and games.
Veritas Classical League (5th – 12th grade) – “The League”
The Veritas Classical League (VCL) is an after school program that is open to any interested students fifth grade through high school.
VCL is an official chapter of a nationwide organization called National Junior Classical League (NJCL), first formed in 1936. It’s our effort to help ambitious Veritas students enter the arena of academic competition in the areas of Latin, mythology, Greek and Roman culture and geography, and more.
